Meet The Team

Howard N. Sobel, Esq.
Principal

A long-time resident of Southern New Jersey, Howard N. Sobel chose a career in law for two inherent reasons – his interest in helping others and his innate competitive spirit that lured him to the challenge of court room litigation. His areas of concentration include litigation, transactional, bankruptcy, collections, personal injury and general practice.
Mr. Sobel is a graduate of the Cleveland Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, earning his Juris Doctor in 1979. He received his Bachelor of Arts with honors and distinction in Political Science from Rutgers University Camden in 1976. While an undergraduate student at Rutgers, Mr. Sobel was awarded an internship with United States Senator Thomas F. Eagleton in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Sobel is admitted to the New Jersey State Bar, Pennsylvania State Bar, United States District Court for the District of Jersey, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals -Third Circuit and United States Supreme Court. He is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Camden County Bar Association.
Over the years, Mr. Sobel has been a lecturer for local businesses in the subject of credit and collections and has been a previous panelist in local newspaper columns addressing general legal questions. He has been named New Jersey Super Lawyer (General Litigation) each year since 2010 as well as was recognized as Top Attorney (Debt Collection) by SJ Magazine from 2008 to 2010 & also in 2013. Mr. Sobel has also been named an Awesome Attorney (Bankruptcy & Creditor-Debtor Rights) by South Jersey Magazine in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 & 2017.

Margaret D. Nikolis, Esq.
Attorney
Prior to joining the Law Office of Howard N. Sobel, Ms. Nikolis was an Associate Attorney with David J. Gorberg and Associates, P.C. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this role, she was involved in all stages of litigation, representing plaintiffs in lemon law cases. Ms. Nikolis was a Law Clerk at Neil A. Morris Associates, P.C. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and held a Judicial Externship for The Honorable Sue L. Robinson, United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
Ms. Nikolis earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (May 2001) and received her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware (May 2005) with Dean’s List Honors, graduating Cum Laude and within the Top 5% of her class. Ms. Nikolis is a Member of the Bar in the State of New Jersey, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is a resident of Thornton, Pennsylvania.
